The EEV networking sessions are an opportunity for teachers of VCE Environmental Science to informally meet online after school hours to share ideas and ask questions. You will receive an email with a Zoom link leading up to the scheduled 4pm -5pm meeting. Please direct any queries or suggestions for discussion to vce@eev.vic.edu.au Free attendance for EEV VCE Environmental Science members (Individual or Associate). If you are not a member you can pay with credit card or Purchase Order (please email publications@eev.vic.edu.au with your PO number and details) or become a member here.

FREE Nature Journaling Incursions April through June!

🌿 FREE Nature Journaling Incursions for students Looking for a simple, meaningful outdoor activity for your students?  Bring your class outside for a fully facilitated 1-hour Nature Journaling session where students slow down, observe their surroundings and record what they notice through drawing and simple written observations. The session is fully run for you, so teachers can relax and enjoy the experience alongside their students. Best of all, it’s completely FREE for eligible schools. ✏️ What is Nature Journaling? Nature journaling blends science, creativity and mindfulness.Students take a short nature walk around their school grounds and record what they observe through sketches, labels and notes. They may draw leaves, insects, birds, textures or patterns they notice in nature. It’s not about artistic skill — it’s about curiosity, observation and connection to the natural world. 🌱 Benefits for Students Nature journaling helps students: Build a stronger connection with nature Improve observation and scientific thinking skills Develop creativity and drawing confidence Support student wellbeing through calm outdoor learning 📌 Booking Conditions Schools must be ResourceSmart Schools (RSS) Active on the day or prior Maximum of 1 booking per school across the incursion series One class or Green Team per session Only available to schools in Melbourne's Western Metropolitan Region.   It’s easy to get RSS Active if you’re not already. Simply: 1️⃣ Log into the RSS Portal 2️⃣ Click School Settings (left-hand menu) 3️⃣ Scroll to the 2026 section and update your student & staff numbers. That’s it. 🚲 FREE Hands-On STEM Challenge Incursions April through June! Looking for a fun, engaging sustainability activity for your students? Schools in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs are invited to take part in a FREE 1 HOUR STEM incursion encouraging students to think about sustainable ways of travelling to school. 🚲 The STEM Challenge Students will take part in a creative design challenge: Design and Create a Bike Hub for Your School. Working like young engineers, students will design a safe, fun and sustainable bike hub (bike racks, seating, protection from weather, bikes safe, good access to the bikes) that encourages more students to ride their bikes to school.
