Hobson's Bay Teacher Environment Network (TEN) Meeting: RITUAL & TREE PLANTING
Cherry Lake
4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Come along to the Term 2 TEN! (Rescheduled to Week 2 of Term 3 - Lots to catch up on!)  We'll partake in some experiential learning around 'ritual' and plants with Rachel Forgasz and we will learn the 'ins' and 'outs' of successfully running your own planting day in schools (and how to nourish the plants afterwards). Places are limited! Catering is delicious! Come along.  From Rachel's workshop at EASL Learning for Sustainability conference earlier this year:  Performing rituals is something people have done across cultures over thousands of years; and the absence of ritual in contemporary Western life is recognised as contributing to feelings of anxiety, despondency, and powerlessness. While many of us think of rituals as religious and formal, they don’t have to be. Creating and performing rituals is something we can all do to express emotion, to make commitments, and to invite a greater sense of purpose and connection in our lives. In this experiential workshop, we will explore the powerful role that everyday rituals can play in these uncertain times, by supporting young people, families, and communities, to connect with themselves, one another, and the Earth.

Student Voice in Sustainability Network - 1st meeting!
1:15 PM – 2:00 PM
We are excited to invite you and any students at your school (primary or secondary) who are passionate about sustainability, to join us for an online Student Voice in Sustainability meeting. We hope that moving forward, a few of these can be run each year providing an opportunity for students to connect and share ideas around taking action on sustainability within schools. The purpose of this first meeting is to discuss the intention and vision for the network. So, either bring your students along or gather their thoughts beforehand! We want to hear: What does student leadership in the environmental space look like at your school? What are some hurdles around implementing sustainability projects?  What would you like to get out of this group moving forward? What shall we call these meetings? Which date and time is best for you? All schools across Victoria are welcome, no matter how active you are in terms of sustainability, RSS, and student voice. What matters is that you are interested in this space! Closer to the date, a Zoom link will be sent to all staff that register. NB Do not include any student details when registering for this event - only enter staff details. This meeting and the network is jointly hosted and run by all ResourceSmart Schools delivery partners across Victoria: Eastern Alliance for Sustainable Living (EASL), CERES, and the RSS team at Sustainability VIctoria, as well as us here at EEV.
