Hobson's Bay TEN Term 4: Nature Journalling
Newport Lakes
4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Join artist Claire Mosley and Ranger Andrew Webster in a nature journaling workshop focussing on flora and fauna of the Hobsons Bay area. Participants will be invited to learn about their local place through art and sensory activities.  The workshop will also explore how nature journaling can be used in schools to connect students to their local places, to promote sustainability, and encourage wellbeing for all involved.  This workshop gives educators from all fields an opportunity to develop their experiential, place-based, nature-pedagogy tool-belt; to connect with other teachers; AND have fun - all in an afternoon's work.  No art experience is needed for this workshop! Just paper, a pencil, and a little curiosity.  All attendees will be treated to a delicious afternoon tea by local food project Messy Treats, and will go into the running to win one a tea-towel from artist: Claire Mosley.  Tickets are FREE for educators in the Hobson's Bay Area, but booking is essential.

Supporting Student Wellbeing and Student Voice at Your School
4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Why does student voice matter? How can we support our young people to have a sense of agency and hope in this deeply challenging time? Join us online as we explore the links between student voice and student wellbeing, plus how you can support your students to get more active in more meaningful ways! We'll start by hearing from the experts at VicSRC (we'll be joined by the CEO, Nina Laitala, and a current student representative) then we'll hear from a teacher and their student action team who will share their journey of student empowerment. The last part of the session will be focussed on RSS - tips for setting up student user accounts on the RSS online system, establishing student action teams, and other practicalities so that involve your students in RSS to maximise their learning and so you can build up a team around you to support sustainability at your school. We welcome everyone to join us for this session, with a special call out to Principals and Leadership Teams to join us for the first hour - or perhaps your whole staff meeting can join us on video link!  To attend this workshop, you need to be a participating school in the ResourceSmart School program in the Western Metro or Barwon South West regions &/or an EEV member.  If you're not sure if your school is participating in RSS, ask Nerida, EEV's RSS Coordinator. It's easy to sign up! --- Victorian Student Representative Council (VicSRC) is the peak body for school aged students in Victoria. VicSRC was created by students to be a voice for students at the highest levels of decision making in Victorian education and is the only independent organisation of its kind in Australia. VicSRC’s vision is education that is flexible, relevant and includes all students in all decisions. VicSRC is led by a team of 15 secondary school aged students elected annually by their peers who stand with and for students to elevate their voices to be heard.   Photo credit: VicSRC

Hello CoM, EEV are trialling a new CRM platform called Tidy HQ. It includes an events platform that is linked to the database. Please order a ticket, and provide some basic information (your postcode can be your home postcode or 3053 for our office in Carlton).  We are using these fields to better understand how the platform collects and stores data. TidyHQ also has a meeting agenda/minute storage which we will use for this meeting. The Agenda is still being finalised, but it is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1e9KK5-Zo5AAW9NLAZ-rI-k17Mw6eZ3R8/edit# kind regards, Jo  A/EO
